Cyndi Lauper’s new campaign for LGBT equality had exploded onto the national scene with the release of a series of videos featuring celebrities expressing why they Give a Damn about equality.

The We Give a Damn campaign is a bold, Web-based initiative with the goal of educating and engaging the straight community in the advancement of LGBT equality.

The Web site is designed as an easy to understand introduction to the issues affecting the LGBT community.

In addition to the video components, We Give a Damn features three important sections: the Damn Blog, which is updated daily to keep readers informed on breaking news and ways to get involved; Personal Stories, where visitors can read about why other people support equality and how inequalities have affected their lives; and Damn Issues, where visitors can learn about the issues that matter most to them.

Through the use of social media tools like Facebook and Twitter, visitors are urged to reach out to the straight people in their lives encourage them to show their support. There are also additional opportunities to get involved with an array of non-profit organizations available through the We Give a Damn partnerships.

SDGLN will feature the videos from celebrities such as Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg, Jason Mraz Cynthia Nixon, Anna Paquin, Sharon & Kelly Osbourne and Clay Aiken.
