SAN DIEGO -- DOD FED GLOBE, a national organization of civilian LGBT and ally employees of the Department of Defense (DOD), is looking for current and former employees of DOD to tell stories of harassment on the job in a video interview.
Lisa Kove, executive director of DOD FOD GLOBE, said that her organization has recently learned of at least three LGBT hate incidents committed against DOD employees by co-workers while on the job. The video project, Kove says, will shine light on these incidents and the harassment that she believes happens on a regular basis within the organization, which has offices, bases, facilities, and work stations around the globe.
DOD FED GLOBE is calling the video project "ENDA NOW," in reference to the Employment Nondiscrimination Act, and will distribute it via social networking, and provide a copy to the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute.
Kove hopes that LGBT servicemembers - past and present, civil servants, DOD aligned contractors, their friends, spouses, and relatives will reach out to tell their stories. Speaking in anonymity is possible.
For more information or to tell a story of harassment, contact Kove at (619) 347-9357 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
