Special Delivery annual Pride BBQ Fundraiser set for July 21

SAN DIEGO -- Plans are set for Special Delivery’s annual LGBT Pride BBQ fundraiser, the nonprofit’s largest annual fundraising event, to take place on the rooftop of the Inn at the Park (formerly Park Manor Suites) from noon to 6 pm on Saturday, July 21.

“Our annual BBQ has become a long-time tradition for locals and visitors after the parade during Pride weekend in San Diego,” said Ruth Henricks, executive director.

For more than 10 years, this event has provided funding to help support Special Delivery’s home-delivered meal service and food pantry for San Diegans with life-threatening illnesses such as AIDS, heart disease, kidney disease and cancer.

“After the LGBT Pride parade, we invite all festival-goers and others to come up to the Inn at the Park to enjoy the great views as well as a delicious barbecue including hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers, salads, and all the trimmings," she said.

Sponsors for this year’s event include Gold Sponsor: Priority, a MOMS pharmacy; Silver Sponsor: Vulcan Steam and Sauna; Bronze Sponsors: California Bank & Trust; Kaiser Permanente; and Roger Birchmeier, www.realestatesd.net; and In-kind Sponsor: Food Should Taste Good.
