VIDEO: Mainers United make final push for marriage equality vote

PORTLAND, Maine -- Mainers United have unleashed two new ads in support of marriage equality in the week leading up to the Nov. 6 election.

One ad features the son of a lesbian couple, an honor roll student and athlete, who says he wants his moms to have the same rights to marry that he has.

The other ad features a straight couple, one of whom is a teacher, who explain that they talk to their children about LGBT people, marriage and family values – not schools.

Maine will vote on Question 1 on Tuesday. A “yes” vote will allow gay and lesbian couples in Maine to marry.
