Get ready to walk and run for a good cause as the Pride 5K takes over Balboa Park on Saturday, July 15, 2017, 9:30 am.

This event started in the late 80’s and grew into an “official” Run & Stride with Pride in 2007.

A decade later, the event has grown to become one of the biggest Pride runs in the nation.

Its mission is to raise money for charity including The San Diego Center’s LGBT Youth Housing Project and Pride Community Grants.

Last year, over 1,000 participants helped to raise $12,000 for the organizations.

Front Runners & Walkers were proud to have committed nearly $30,000 to our charities.

Here are some details about the event:

Start time and location:

Saturday, July 15, 2017, 9:30 am.

Race start and finish: University Avenue at Centre Street.

Activities begin at 8:30 am with our preferred sponsors

Safety:

For the safety of runners, baby joggers are allowed but will be asked to start behind all runners.

Bicycles, inline skates, motorized scooters, skateboards, are not allowed.

Pets are not allowed unless it's a service animal.

Timing:

State of the art ChronoTrack systems will be used to record your true time from the start line to finish line. The ChronoTrack system uses a UHF RFID disposable tag that allows you to walk away after the finish without having your tag collected.

Route

The fast, flat course follows the parade route.  The crowds begin to form at 9:30 am when the race begins so you'll have a lot of spectators and cheering to help you achieve your goals!
