San Diego veterans will sit down to gourmet Christmas dinner

The feast is organized by Fig Tree Cafe, Breakfast Republic and Como Ceviche.

Veterans and their families will enjoy a gourmet meal on Christmas Day thanks to many restaurants who are donating their time and skills to the “The Rise & Shine Restaurant Group Veterans Dinner.”

This holiday charity event will have live music from DJ Tone Capone, Go-go dancers and $3 “u-call-its” from 7 pm to 9 pm. That means anything behind the bar is only $3.

San Diego LGBT activist Nicole Murray-Ramirez was given the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 30th Anniversary Dinner of Border Angels in San Diego on November 5, 2016.

The event was held at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation to a sold-out crowd.

Murray-Ramirez was honored alongside stage producer and director William A. Virchis.

Giving to a charity each year is easy for most of us. We find ourselves drawn to a cause, a particular group, mission and well we just plain want to help those who may be less fortunate than ourselves. When you have a personal tie to an organization, giving your hard-earned dollars is simple.

New San Diego State University program supports LGBTQ commuter students

This semester, the San Diego State University Pride Centerhas implemented a new program, the Pride House Commuter Program, to provide guidance, advice and support to commuter students who align themselves with SDSU’s LGBTQ community. NLGJA continues to celebrate LGBT history month: Randy Shilts

Randy Shilts was among the first to cover HIV and AIDS.

National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) is celebrating LGBT History Month in October with a weekly profile of individuals who have made contributions to advancing NLGJA's mission of promoting fair and accurate coverage of LGBTQ issues and people. 

Today, NLGJA celebrates LGBTQ pioneer Randy Shilts, who was inducted into NLGJA's LGBT Journalists Hall of Fame in 2005.
