Pride Plaza stands tall, watching over Hillcrest and the LGBT community with its many flags. But there is one that is missing and Matthew Phy hopes to change that.

Matthew has lived in San Diego for nearly three years, moving here for a job as a political director on a congressional campaign. Like a lot of people, he says he liked the city so much he decided to stay.

Trans flag will fly in Hillcrest to honor veterans and active duty service members.

In recognition and support of transgender active servicemembers and veterans, the Transgender flag will fly in Hillcrest today.

Executive Director of the Hillcrest Business Association, Benjamin Nicholls confirmed with us that the flag will be raised on the Pride staff by this evening.

Pride 5K Run & Walk gets you moving for a good cause

Last year, over 1,000 participants helped to raise $12,000 for the organizations.

Get ready to walk and run for a good cause as the Pride 5K takes over Balboa Park on Saturday, July 15, 2017, 9:30 am.

This event started in the late 80’s and grew into an “official” Run & Stride with Pride in 2007.

A decade later, the event has grown to become one of the biggest Pride runs in the nation.

San Diego remembers Pulse

San Diego will honor the innocent lives lost at Pulse Nightclub one year ago today.

It was one year ago today that the LGBT and Latinx community was rocked by tragedy as word spread around the globe of a lone gunman taking the souls of 49 lives and physically injuring 58 at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando Florida.
