Gina Roberts, President of Log Cabin Republicans of San Diego, and the only Transgender President within the organization makes the following statement concerning President Trump's ban on Transgender service members.
As part of their commitment to creating a lasting tribute to the families whose lives have been forever changed by AIDS and HIV, the San Diego AIDS Memorial Task Force will hold a public meeting on Aug. 28 to provide a status update on the project and call on members of the public to submit design ideas for a memorial in a new Bankers Hill park.
Fifty years ago, this summer an urban rebellion took place. One hundred and fifty-nine riots erupted in African American cities across the country. The civil unrest took place in cities like New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Birmingham, and Boston, to name a few. The worst riots that summer were in Newark, New Jersey and Detroit, Michigan.
Continuing his commitment to improving all neighborhoods, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer was joined today by State Assemblymember Todd Gloria and City Councilmember Chris Ward to mark progress on construction for a state-of-the-art library in Uptown.
