The City of San Diego continues to encourage resident participation in its search for the next Chief of Police. Public input will be gathered during four remaining community conversation workshops throughout the City and through an online survey.

“To make sure we find the best possible person to be San Diego's next police chief, it's critical that our recruitment and selection process be driven by the most important concerns of the public,” said Councilmember Chris Ward. “The input provided in these community conversations is the best way to ensure that resident priorities are heard as we move forward on this important decision.”

The community conversations will be structured similarly to successful workshops held by other cities in their police chief recruitment processes.

The workshops will feature discussions with small groups and then a large group conversation led by a facilitator to provide an opportunity for input from all interested attendees.

Additional information regarding the recruitment is available online, and subsequent workshops are listed below.

The meeting is on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, 6 - 8 p.m

San Diego LGBT Community Center is located at 3909 Centre St. San Diego, 92103

Note: An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be providing interpretation at this workshop.
