Lambda Archives announces Historian in Residence

Lambda Archives of San Diego is pleased to announce the establishment of a “Historian-in-Residence” program.

This honorific title is bestowed upon a prominent or influential historian in the field of LGBTQ historic scholarship at the discretion of Lambda Archives.

We are honored to name Dr. Lillian Faderman as our inaugural Historian-in-Residence for the 2017-2019 term.

Hillcrest-wide new parking enforcement hours shift

The new Hillcrest enforcement hours will be from 10 am to 8 pm, Monday through Saturday, Sundays &Holidays excepted.

The Uptown Community Parking District, with support of the Hillcrest Business Association, is shifting parking meters and time-limited parking enforcement hours to best meet the needs of those in Hillcrest.

The current meter enforcement hours in Hillcrest, will shift forward by two hours with mornings now free up to 10 am.

Rep. Susan Davis introduces bipartisan bill to stop LGBT discrimination for jury service

In 2012, a San Diego Superior Court judge ruled that prosecutors illegally dismissed at least one juror based on real or perceived sexual orientation. 

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Susan Davis (D-CA) introduced the Juror Non-Discrimination Act to prohibit removal from a jury based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Rep. Pat Meehan (R-PA) joined Davis as lead cosponsor of the bill. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Susan Collins (R-ME) introduced companion legislation in the Senate.

WASHINGTON –The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights and 155 civil and human rights groups today called upon the Executive Branch to respond more quickly and forcefully to hate-based incidents, which have been occurring at an alarming rate in recent months.

Do Ex-Gays Exist?

Starting in 2011 leaders of ex-gay ministries around the world admitted no Christian changed orientation to heterosexual.

We all know people who are bisexual and have had sex with both sexes. That is perfectly valid and bisexuality is not just a way of avoiding labels. It is a genuine sexual orientation, albeit often misunderstood.

But has anyone been able to choose to go from homosexual to heterosexual by choice, prayer or any other means?
