If you think it’s too early to make arrangements for the biggest feast of the year, think again. Many of the best San Diego restaurants are already debuting their 2011 Thanksgiving brunch and dinner menus, and you’re invited to pull up a chair. I can smell the pumpkin pie already...
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks for the blessings of the year, appreciate the company of loved ones and, most importantly, a time to pass the turkey gravy and get busy on the beautiful pile of stuffing sitting before you. For young professionals not going home for the holidays, hard working mothers who deserve a break, and those visiting San Diego to escape harsh winter weather elsewhere, we’re bringing you the ultimate guide to 2011 Thanksgiving at San Diego restaurants, served on Thursday, November 24th.
Bertrand at Mister A’s: The perfect pick for a sophisticated family with refined taste, Thanksgiving dinner at Bertrand at Mister A’s is sure to impress. The three-course menu features Mister A’s favorites and seasonal classics. Start with your choice of Traditional Lobster Bisque, Oven Roasted Butternut Squash Soup or Macaroni & Cheese, among others. Main course options include Oven Roasted Fresh and Organic Diestel Turkey, Pan Seared White Sea Bass Filet and Slow Roasted Brandt Farm Prime Rib. Make sure to save room for dessert; you won’t want to miss out on Julian’s Apple Tarte Tatin, Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brulee and Mediterranean Style Paella. For the little ones, a children’s menu features a traditional turkey plate and pumpkin pie, complete with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Thanksgiving dinner at Mister A’s is priced at $59.50 per adult, and $25 per child.
Terra American Bistro: Chef Jeff Rossman is serving a special Thanksgiving menu this year, and is also offering take-out treats to spice up your homemade meal. The three-course dine-in feast starts with your choice of Suzie’s Farm Kabocha Squash Bisque or Caramelized Fennel & Bibb Salad. Entrée selections range from Rosemary and Thyme Roasted Turkey, to Grilled Pork Chop, Hazelnut Crusted Local Fish and Pepper & Herb Crusted Prime Rib. For dessert, indulge in Apple Persimmon Cobbler, Maple Cheesecake or Chocolate Tart. The menu is offered for three seatings on Thanksgiving, at 12pm, 2:30pm or 5pm, at the new Terra location in La Mesa. The three-course menu is $35 per person. These holiday goodies are also available to go, for orders placed by November 18th.
BO-beau Kitchen + Bar: This warm and rustic restaurant pays homage to French comfort food and recently debuted new, hearty menu items for the fall season. For a special holiday treat, spend your Thanksgiving at BO-beau with Chef Katherine Humphus. The three-course menu starts with your choice of Potato Leek Soup, Beet Salad or Duck Fat Deviled Eggs. Entrée selections range from Oven Roasted Turkey Breast to Boeuf Bourguignon and Moules Marineres. And for dessert, enjoy your pick of Pumpkin Pie, Caramel Apple Crepes and Crème Brulee. Thanksgiving dinner is priced at $39.95 per adult and $12.95 for kids, and a basket of cornbread and pumpkin butter is included.
