The construction is entering its final stages, the bar stools and tables have been delivered, so things are looking good!
Here's what the interior should look like once everything is in place:
"The interior of the Hillcrest Brewing Company will feature an open ceiling with sealed concrete floors and a 15 foot chandelier made with 97 sustainable 22oz beer bottles that will hang within a 23 foot copula. Additional clusters of hanging beer bottle chandeliers will give life to a total Frankenstein set up, with much of the equipment home made including a steam punk style bottling machine built from scratch. A 13 foot garage door will open to an L-Shaped outdoor patio with cushioned keg barrel seating and planters with local varietal hop bines (hop vines) that can grow up to 25+ feet along horizontal trellises."
People in the community are getting very excited about this. Here's just a sample of some of the comments on the pending opening I've seen thus far:
John Thurston: Chris Shaw is certainly one smart and successful business operator! I've known him since his days at the WCPC ... what’s that you ask?
Scott Hamilton: Looks great can't wait!
Lora Wiggins: I love and support local breweries. When I found out that Hillcrest Brewing Co. was opening its doors, I was excited that I would be able to support a family local brewery. It's about damn time!
Paula Tracy Lambert: A new and wonderful GLBT establishment where I can go with my wife and enjoy my Gluten Free Beer and Gluten Free Pizza, I just know you're going to have this for me!
Dain Gutzmer: Excited that there will be an amazing brewery within walking distance of my place!
Ben Parmentier: I'm excited for you to open because any beer named "Perle Necklace" would be Golden Girls-approved!!
Melanio Flaviano: Its about time we have a local brewing company in HILLCREST itself!!!! Way to go ... much more gaiety to be found in the 'hood!
Isabel Guzman: So excited to finally have a brewing company in our "Hood." Perle Necklace is yummy ... I love the new location as I was fortunate to take a peek inside ... looks awesome! Hurry up open open open!
Cynthia Luna: I can't wait because there is no doubt it's going to be another great establishment!!! A brewery is perfect! Now all you need is a wine bar, oooh or a brewery that also serves good wine!!! Yeah !!!!!
Rosalie Delaney: I'm excited because I always like to start with 2 beers! I can start at The Hillcrest Brewing Company, have 2 beers then hop on over to Gossip Grill for a Va-JJ lei (cherry vodka, soda water with a splash of Redbull) then take a whimsical ride via the Mo's shuttle (which stops every 15 minutes (gay time) ) over to Mo's for some dancing! One way ticket to Mo's Universe please!!
