SAN DIEGO -- Eden just finalized its star-studded Pride weekend lineup. Liberty Pride will feature extended hours on the patio and at Ciro’s Pizza, along with an extensive schedule of events Thursday though Sunday.
To accommodate the extra crowds, the currently closed restaurant will temporarily re-open. The space will be used as a lounge area with additional bar setup throughout Pride; it will also offer a happy hour and a Ciro’s menu, and a buffet brunch on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.
Here's the complete lineup:
Thursday, July 19
Pride PRE Party Liberty Bear BBQ
$10 Presale | $20 at door
This bear-themed event will begin with a BBQ Grill on the Patio at 8 pm. The nightclub opens at 10 pm, with Guest list from 10 pm to 11 pm. The night features hot, scruffy go-go boys, as well as the San Diego debut of DJ Tristan Jaxx. There's no cover for anyone at the BBQ from 8 pm to 10 pm.
Friday, July 20
SD Pride | Luciana
$10 Presale | $20 at door
The Patio opens early at noon for Happy Hour, then at 9pm the nightclub opens featuring DJ Justin Ryan, plus DJ Schoeny and DJ Dawna Montell as well. Look for a live performance by Luciana later in the evening.
Saturday, July 21
Official Parade Viewing Party
Day: $15 presale | $20 at door
The front Patio will be cleared for a special VIP Parade Viewing Party. Ciro's will open early at 10 am, and a buffet brunch and bottle service will be available as well. And most importantly: there'll be a hosted well bar for those who've purchased Eden weekend passes (see below). Passes can be purchased there on site.
VIP bleachers will be setup, giving perhaps the best view of the parade in town. Watch for a big confetti drop/production number when the Eden float goes by!
After the parade, Eden will open the Club, black out the windows, and create a full Day Club experience with DJ Taj and DJ Justin Ryan until 7 pm.
SD Pride | Deborah Cox
Night: $25 presale | $40 at door
Nightclub re-opens at 9 pm with music by DJ Tatiana Alverez, along with an opening set by DJ Derek Monteiro. Then get ready for a live performance by headliner Deborah Cox around midnight!
And the fun won't stop then ... Eden will have after-hours until 4 am tonight.
Sunday, July 22
The club will open at 10 am for brunch for a “Party Rock” NeonBrunch event: Wear neon, stand on tables, spray champagne ... this is one buffet brunch you won't wanna miss! With music by DJ Schoeny, DJ Dawna Montell and DJ Billy The Kid, a percentage of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Hillcrest Pride Flag. Ciro’s will open at noon as well, and the party goes until 7 pm.
SD Pride | Cazwell
$10 presale | $20 at door
The nightclub will reopen at 9 pm with DJ Pornstar spinning, and a live performance later in the evening by headliner Cazwell.
As I alluded to above, VIP Pride weekend passes are also available for $100 through this Friday, then $125 thereafter. These include priority front-of-line access with re-entry to all events at Eden Thursday to Sunday, plus the previously-mentioned hosted well bar and access to the VIP viewing riser section during the Parade. Hmmm, not a bad deal, considering how many well drinks I'll drink during a three-hour parade!
Lei Lounge grand reopening is tonight
Last night, I attended the gala VIP reopening party for Lei Lounge, and boy what a change they made to the place! White-leather panel walls in the front room, and in the back patio ... Wow! Gone are the bulky cabanas and the cramped feeling of old, and instead we have a huge overhead canopy with video projections on it. It had everyone looking up and gawking.
And tonight (Thursday) at 5 pm will be the official public grand reopening, so be sure to stop by and check it out for yourselves.
GLU Pool Party is this Saturday
DJ James Adams will be spinning, and tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door ... which is not a bad deal at all, considering that all food and drinks are covered in the price of admission. As always, proceeds will benefit GLU's Aids Walk fundraising drive. The deadline for pre-sales is Friday July 13 at 5 pm.
Comic-Con is this weekend, and if you don't have a ticket already ... forget about it.
Yep, it's sold out. Tickets to this hugely popular convention typically sell out within days of going on sale the year before, thus you really need to plan ahead to be able to attend.
There are, however, a few Comic-Con themed events going on in Hillcrest and North Park, in which both attendees and non-attendees can mingle and get into the spirit of the weekend:
Friday, July 13
8 pm | Comicondom: A Pride and Comic-Con Art Mashup at Pure Boutique
10 pm | The Original Heroes vs Villains Comic-Con After Party at Rich's
10 pm | Heroes vs Villains Comic-Con Costume Party at Spin
I personally am looking forward to meeting a few sexy nerds out and about this weekend:
