Theater Review: “Nathan Gunn Flying Solo”

“Nathan Gunn Flying Solo” plays through June 10, 2018, at San Diego Repertory Theatre Lyceum Stage, 79 Horton Plaza, Downtown.

Don’t go to see baritone Nathan Gunn just because he’s a “barihunk” (or, as he prefers, “hunkiton”), though let’s face it: it’s great to listen to somebody who’s also easy on the eyes.

See “Nathan Gunn Flying Solo” at San Diego Repertory Theatre because he will thrill you with what is probably the best baritone voice singing today.

Barr says Ambien to blame for her racist comment

Ambien may be the reason for Roseanne's tweet heard around the world she says.

In what may have been the most shocking industry decision in history, the top-rated “Roseanne” reboot was canceled by ABC yesterday because star Roseanne Barr tweeted out a salient racist comment against a former Obama advisor of color.

However, the star says she may not have been in control of her actions, alluding that she took an Ambien and it might have clouded her judgment.

'Roseanne' cancelled after star's twitriol

Roseanne Barr's sitcom cancelled by network over controversial tweet.

ABC has canceled “Roseanne” after the star's racist twitter rant this morning.

Theater Review: "Avenue Q"

“Avenue Q” plays through July 1, 2018, at New Village Arts, 2787 State Street, Carlsbad.

“They” are Jeff Whitty and Robert Lopez, jointly responsible for the hilarious puppet musical “Avenue Q,” which has been around amusing audiences since 2003. A sparkling production is back onstage for a run through July 1 at New Village Arts in Carlsbad.

Theater Review: “The Madres”

“The Madres” plays through June 10, 2018, at Moxie Theatre, 6663 El Cajon Boulevard in the SDSU area.

Playwright Stephanie Alison Walker’s “The Madres” memorializes the public protests of Argentinian women against the repressive (and murderous) rightwing junta that deposed Isabel Perón in 1976, and promptly proceeded to eliminate opposition by means of arrests, imprisonment, torture and murder. Some 30,000 “enemies” just disappeared and were never seen again.

Ellen stops entire show over "laurel" vs. "yanny" debate

The internet is debating over what they hear in an audio clip: "laurel" or "yanny."

A few years ago, people were at odds with each other about the color of a dress, making most of the world wonder if they were a part of some global practical joke. It was so polarizing science had to step in to explain it.
