The FilmOut trailer has arrived

The official FilmOut trailer has arrived and it looks like this year’s event will be bigger than ever. With many films making their west coast premieres, the festival will once again be host to Hollywood’s biggest names in LGBT entertainment.

From the legendary heart throb Tab Hunter to the current stars that make Hollywood shine, FilmOut is going to take San Diego by storm from Friday, May 29 -31.

This year’s films include the California premiere of “Tab Hunter: Confidential,” an inside look at the professional and private life of the handsome star as he weaves through Hollywood as a gay man.

Also at this year’s convention James Franco in “I am Michael,” the true story of gay activist Michael Glatze (James Franco), the managing editor of San Francisco’s XY magazine, who becomes a Christian pastor, leaving his longtime lover Bennett (Zachary Quinto) and marrying Rebekah (Emma Roberts).

Documentaries will also be featured at this year’s event. “Seed Money: The Chuck Holmes Story,” chronicles the life of Chuck Holmes, the man behind the successful adult film studio Falcon. His turn as a gay activist and philanthropist is met with resistance and friction because of his professional past.

These are just a few of the movies that highlight FilmOut this year. From full-length features to the best in short film, San Diego will come alive for a weekend as stars and film lovers alike celebrate the best in LBTQ cinema.
