'Drag Race' gets 8 Emmy noms, including Reality Competition Host

There are going to be a lot of  RuPaul’s Drag Racers in San Diego this weekend for Pride so you may want to condragulate them if they were on the show this year.

The Emmy’s were announced this morning and the hit reality series managed to accumulate eight nominations including Outstanding Reality Competition and Reality Competition Host. That includes Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program for Untucked.

"I want to thank the Academy for honoring the entire cast and crew of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ my family at World of Wonder, and our champions at VH1,” Mama Ru said upon hearing of her nom. “It takes a village, people!  Their creativity and dedication to telling the stories of our brave and talented queens never ceases to amaze, amuse and inspire."

This weekend several past stars of the series will be enjoying the festivities.

On Sunday, July 16, at the Lafayette Hotel, you can "DRAG Yourself to BRUNCH" with season one contestant Raven, season six’s Gia Gunn, with Rhea Litre, and Jazmyn Simone-Échelon.

Season eight saucy queen Acid Betty will be at Uptown Tavern in their “Under the Big Top Pride Sunday” event.

VH1 has renewed the show for a tenth season, tentatively scheduled to air in March 2018.
