It was all a matter of happenstance.
Caitlyn Jenner doesn’t support Donald Trump anymore and says her “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) head gear on Thursday was a mistake.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, the reality star said she was looking for a hat to wear from her Mailbu home to the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Caitlyn wanted to control her hair and didn’t want to wear a simple golf visor while driving in her in her Austin Healy convertible so she picked the Trump hat from her closet without realizing what it said.
Once at the club she removed the hat, threw it on the floor of the car then went and hit a few golf balls.
An hour later she returned and this time to her dismay saw what the cap said.
"What he's doing to our community is absolutely f***ing awful,” she told the publication.
Despite that, she decided to wear the hat for the drive back thinking no one would see her.
Wanting a coffee, the reality star stopped at a Starbucks for a latte, but didn’t want to wear the MAGA hat inside and switched it out for a golf visor.
Once back inside the sports car with her coffee, she again put the Trump hat back on and got halfway home when she realized she left her purse at the coffeehouse.
In a panic, she returned to the Starbucks and got her purse but this time forgot to switch hats.
After retrieving her purse and heading back to Malibu a photographer snapped the photo of Caitlyn wearing the Trump cap in her convertible.
As for what to do with the red cap now, she says she’s thinking of signing it and auctioning it off for charity. Or she might just rip it up and burn it.
"I apologize to all of the trans community. I made a mistake. I will never do it again and I'm getting rid of the hat,” she says.
