The 29-year-old used Twitter to make the announcement.
Aaron Carter made an early-evening reveal through Twitter Saturday in which he says he is bisexual.
The young singer starts off his post by saying that he loves each and every one of his fans, but he has been carrying a weight around for nearly half his life and it has affected his identity.
“I grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-year-old I started to find boys and girls attractive,” he wrote.
The 29-year-old says there were a few times in his life he thought about it, but it wasn’t until he was 17-years-old that, ”I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with,” he said keeping quiet about names.
In February 2016, Carter performed at Rich’s in Hillcrest for their popular “Euphoria” party.
The two were seen in an ambiguous video wherein Crocker calls out Carter for talking to a woman online. The video cuts off just before it looks like the men are going to kiss.
With his heartfelt Twitter post, the questions about his sexuality may finally be laid to rest.
He ends the posting by quoting Boy George, "I’ve never felt as though I didn’t belong, I just acted as though I did.”
Fans seem to have responded positively to his coming-out and this morning Carter thanked them.
"Waking up so overwhelmed by your love and support. Looking forward to seeing you all this Thursday in my hometown," he wrote on Sunday.
