The reality star says he never believed Trump was a racist but now he's sure of it.
American Idol and Celebrity Apprentice contestant Clay Aiken has “woke” from his defense of Donald Trump.
The reality star who once fended for Donald Trump by saying, “I don’t think he’s a fascist. I don’t think he’s a racist,” to Fox Business last year, has done a 180 and denounced the president after his unsympathetic remarks regarding the deadly Charlottesville rally.
The rally which saw a standoff between white-supremacists, Neo-Nazis and nationalists left one young woman, Heather Heyer, dead when a car driven by a nationalist slammed into a counter protest crowd. Several were also hurt in that crime.
He added, “TBC...[To Be Clear] I've always thought he would be a dumpster fire as a president, and I was right about that. I just didn't think he was racist.”
In the wake of the rally in which extremists carried torches, shouted epithets and engaged in violence, Donald Trump, in a press conference yesterday denounced the violence, but not specifically the Neo-Nazi protesters.
“I think there is blame on both sides,” the president said at Trump Tower in Manhattan on Tuesday. “You had a group on one side that was bad. You had a group on the other side that was also very violent. Nobody wants to say that. I’ll say it right now.”
