The spot premiered last Friday.
Reba McEntire gets into drag to portray the most famous Colonel in fried chicken.
The country music star appears in a new ad for KFC, making her the first female to play the part.
“When they asked me to go and be the first female Colonel Sanders, I said, ‘Heck yeah!’ ” McEntire, 62, said during the 2018 Grammy Awards. “Who wouldn’t want to be the Colonel Sanders? Because I’d grown up with Kentucky Fried Chicken all my life. I loved it.”
The new ad was released last Friday in which Reba sings at a honky-tonk dressed as the chicken icon to promote KFC’s Smokey Mountain BBQ.
She not only performs as the Colonel but takes double-duty as a fan seated at a stage-side table.
“I swear I’m not a famous woman,” she sings.
On Sunday, Reba took home the Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album for her record Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope.
