Cloud Sports Network to launch coverage Sunday, May 20 at noon PST.
San Diego sports fans are going to be able to keep up with local amateur sporting events thanks to a new network launching this week with the cooperation of America’s Finest City Softball League (AFCSL), the largest LGBT sports organization in San Diego.
The channel called the Cloud Sports Network will go live on Sunday, May 20 at noon Pacific Standard Time to broadcast the AFCSL regular-season match-up in the Open C Division between Urban Mo’s Wicked and insideOUT Shameless.
"This broadcast represents a project more than two years in the making," says Roman Jimenez, network founder. "We believe there is an audience for games like this and if we can provide a professional quality broadcast, this audience will find us."
He adds: "Our initial strategy is simple. Once this 'Proof of Concept' game has been shown on May 20th, we hope to be invited to cover other leagues and tournaments across the country, as well as showing more games right here in San Diego."
The game will stream in real time on both Facebook and YouTube. Organizers say viewers won’t see coverage made with a smartphone on a tripod, rather they will enjoy three state-of-the-art cameras and professional editing techniques with three on-field microphones.
Local athlete and journalist Roman Jimenez along with Neill Kovrig will do the play-by-play live onscreen with graphics that will update scores and stats throughout the broadcast.
To view the games on Facebook, visit the AFCSL San Diego page and Click “Like” and “Follow” and then watch when the game begins.
To watch the game on YouTube, visit the Cloud Sports Network channel at Noon on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Cloud Sports Network is the world’s first live-streaming broadcaster dedicated to bringing a professional quality viewing experience to amateur sports.
