San Diego Surge rolls into WFA championship game

After kicking out Dallas 48-20, the local full-contact women's tackle football team advances to the big game on Saturday

SAN DIEGO -- While the Chargers try to lay the groundwork for a championship season, another football team in town stands one step away from winning a title.

In its first season, the San Diego Surge women's football team has swamped the opposition.

"The talent here is incredible," said Surge cornerback Desiree Weimann.

"Right now we're unstoppable," said Surge quarterback Melissa Gallegos.
