Is Stephen Whitburn going to run for Board of Supervisors?

Whitburn, the past president of the San Diego Democratic Club, will speak at 5:30 p.m. at Twiggs Bakery & Coffeehouse, 4590 Park Blvd., in University Heights.
In the 2008 District 3 race, Whitburn finished second to winner Todd Gloria in a runoff election.
Whitburn, who is openly gay, is a former journalist who covered city government in Albany, N.Y.; Madison, Wisc.; and San Diego.
In the 2008 race, Whitburn’s endorsement list included the San Diego County Democratic Party, the San Diego Democratic Club, the local chapters of the Sierra Club and the National Organization for Women, and area politicians like U.S. Rep. Bob Filner, City Councilmember Donna Frye and former state Sen. Lucy Killea.
