SAN FRANCISCO -- As expected, supporters of California's Proposition 8 late today asked the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to block District Judge Vaughn Walker's ruling that would permit gay wedding to resume at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The Yes on 8 attorneys had already appealed Judge Walker's decision declaring Prop. 8 unconstitutional.
The appeals court could issue a stay to prevent same-sex marriages from resuming next week or could dismiss the request. Stay tuned for the next legal wrangling in the Prop. 8 case.
