Bus 83 through Hillcrest may be nearing the end of its route for good

Bus 83 runs through Mission Hills and Hillcrest.

For Hillcrest residents and employees who take public transit every day, there may be a change to a major MTS route through the neighborhood.

Bus route 83 runs from Mission Hills through Hillcrest and down Washington Street before it makes a loop up University Avenue for a short distance.

'Thrift Trader' owner in coma, stores close

A local business owner and community supporter remains comatose after he was struck by a train late last month near Little Italy.

Jeff Clark owns the Thrift Trader, a local business landmark that is not only known for its great deals on gently used items, but that its proprietor is always willing to give someone a helping hand when they need it.

Russian leader about gays: 'They are not people'

On Tuesday, The Trump administration is mildly spoke out about the recent homophobic remarks made by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov.

The Russian leader went on HBO and spoke with reporter David Scott and when the journalist questioned him about gay people living in his republic, he laughed, “Why did he come here? What’s the point of these questions?”

San Diego Pride 2017 is one for the history books

Scores of people took to the streets making San Diego Pride 2017 one of the biggest celebrations in the event's history.

Another successful San Diego Pride celebration has come and gone. It was a peaceful event despite some initial concerns of extreme protests or arrests.

In fact, this year’s parade which took place on Saturday saw an increase of about 30,000 attendees over last year and contingents participating in the event rose 50-percent.

San Diego Rainbow Key recipient says he was ousted from Uber for 'kissing my man' at Pride

After recieving a rainbow Pride Key to the city, Crum says he was put out of Uber for kissing his man.

Singer Brian Justin Crum was given a Rainbow Key to the City on Saturday during San Diego Pride, but moments later after his performance, he says he was thrown out of his Uber ride for kissing his boyfriend.

"It was shocking that this happened at Pride," Brian told San Diego Gay and Lesbian News. "Uber was one of the sponsors of San Diego Pride."

SD Pride Parade is the largest single-day civic event

The mayor said San Diego is coming off the best tourism year ever and these two events continually offer the best the city has to offer.

San Diego Pride Parade draws more people than Comic-Con each year and generates millions of dollars to the local economy. The parade sees an estimated 200,000 people; Comic-Con, 135,000. 

Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer and other community leaders including Councilmember Chris Ward discussed how these two major annual events are important for the city’s economy.

San Diego housing market forecast looks bleak by 2020

Families and seniors are being pushed out of California.

A report released by the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Greater San Diego Association of Realtors shows that affordable housing isn't going to get any better in the next three years.  

Both groups created a "Housing Scorecard" that revealed the impact on the housing market will grow bleaker by the year 2020, especially for families and senior citizens.
