Biggest Sheriff's Dept. in US enacts trans policies

Deputies must also respect transgender and non-conforming people’s requests for the gender of the deputies performing invasive searches including strip searches.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has put in place a new policy for interacting with transgender and gender non-conforming people.

These new guidelines went into effect earlier this month says that deputies must now address people by their preferred pronoun.

Conversion therapy now illegal in Nevada

Mission Hills IBEW building razed, new library to replace it

The old International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will be replaced by a new Mission Hills library branch.

This week demolition began on the old International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) building on Washington Street in the Hillcrest/Mission Hills area to make way for a new regional library branch .

The site had become an eyesore to some people who had complained about its outdated style and its use by transients camping out and leaving garbage and debris in the entryway.

Mormons to withdraw up to 180,000 teens from Boy Scouts

The church covers the cost of troops for congregations, or wards, and kids are highly encouraged to participate.

The Mormon church will withdraw older teenagers from the Boy Scouts of American starting next year, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The religious organization said in a statement on Thursday that the extractions from the program are because they are developing their own youth program.
