President Trump to speak at conservative, anti-LGBT conference on Friday.

The Value Voters conference will be held in Washington D.C. this weekend, and President Donald Trump is scheduled to be the Keynote speaker. This will be the first time a sitting president has appeared at the conservative meeting.

The president made an appearance at the convention last year, but he was then only a presidential nominee.

Boy Scouts to allow girls into programs

Boy Scouts unanimously approve accepting girls into their programs.

In a unanimous decision by the board of directors, the Boy Scouts of American announced on Wednesday that they will allow girls to join their programs.

The implementation of this new guideline will begin in 2018 for the Cub Scouts and then in 2019, the Eagle Scouts.

The Eagle dens will remain single gender.

Bold couple caught on camera snatching Gossip Grill employee's wallet

This couple allegedly snatched an employee's phone and wallet right off the bar.

The Hillcrest hospitality industry is on alert this week after a brazen male and female customer came into Gossip Grill early Sunday evening and made off with employee Elly Barksdale’s (top left) wallet and phone.Although the property was eventually recovered, the suspects have not been caught. 

Hillcrest sign victim of hit-and-run

The pillars that hold up the historic Hillcrest sign cause damage to hit-and-run U-Haul truck.

The Hillcrest sign was the victim of a hit and run accident Monday night reports the San Diego Police Department.

Witness to the incident, Derrick Roach watched as a U-Haul truck driven by two men slammed into the historic sign's supporting pole at 5th and University in front of Union Bank. 

"It made a huge noise when it hit,” said Roach. 

Locals complain of drones "peeping" into their windows at night

Unmanned Aircraft Systems are creating an unwelcome buzz around Hillcrest.

You hear a whirring outside your window at night or see small lights suspended in mid-air, these are not UFOs, but UAS's, and it has some in Hillcrest and surrounding areas creeped-out. 

Drones, also known as small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), are perfectly legal, but have Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines for use especially if they fly near an airport.

Homeless people becoming more aggressive in Hillcrest

Some homeless in Hillcrest are attacking residents and business owners in the community and it’s all due to the relocation efforts and encampment sweepings going on downtown according to ABC 10.

The aggressive behaviors are also being blamed as retaliation from the Hepatitis A outbreak.

San Diego man helped save lives in Las Vegas

Taylor Winston helped saved the injured with some quick thinking.

A San Diego man was at the site of the mass shooting in Las Vegas Sunday night, and his quick thinking helped people flee the scene soon after the gunfire began to rain down upon the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
