Corporate renaming of Pittsburgh Pride fractures celebration

Corporations do sponsor Pride celebrations, but they don’t usually require that their name be front and center, un-nesting the word Pride in lieu of branding.

Organizers of Pittsburgh Pride have made some people angry in choosing to rename their celebration after a corporate sponsor which has had anti-LGBT political views in the past.

The Delta Foundation has organized Pittsburgh Pride for nearly a decade. This year, the celebration will undergo a name change from Pittsburgh Pride Parade to EQT Equality March.

A French television host is being accused of spearheading a homophobic prank on unsuspecting meet-up app subscribers.

Host Cyril Hanouna, of Don’t Touch My TV Set (Touche Pas A Mon Poste) created a fake app profile saying that he was “very sporty and well endowed,” and liked to be insulted.

As bait, he pirated an image of model and YouTuber Max Emerson.

Arrests of 141 Indonesian gay men in Jakarta

Lawyers are claiming that they have been refused access to the arrested men and that could mean the police will try and force confessions from them.

JAKARTA, Indonesia — Although homosexuality is not illegal in Indonesia, police still arrested 141 men at a sauna in the capital city on Sunday.

What’s more, after the arrests, the police in Jakarta released numerous photos of the men, and that alarmed activists who say the individuals may not have been out to friends and family.
