SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Gay & Lesbian News (SDGLN) and HuffPost Gay Voices have agreed to be media partners, and the two LGBT news organizations will share content on the two daily websites that have global readership.
SDGLN Editor in Chief Ken Williams said that the partnership will benefit readers of both websites.
“We here at San Diego Gay & Lesbian News work diligently to present news of importance and relevance to the LGBT community locally, nationally and globally. The content-sharing arrangement between SDGLN and Huffington Post’s Gay Voices will give readers of both websites a richer and broader selection of articles to choose from," Williams said.
As part of the popular Huffington Post online news site, Gay Voices provides readers with news of interest to the LGBT community around the world.
“Gay Voices, since its debut last fall, has become a ‘must-read’ website for news, features and blogs about the LGBT community. And SDGLN, which debuted in October 2009, has become the dominant LGBT news source in Southern California and has a global readership from 175 countries every month,” Williams said.
Noah Michelson, editor of HuffPost Gay Voices, said his team is looking forward to the partnership.
"HuffPost Gay Voices is pleased to offer our users a smart, comprehensive real-time snapshot of news and views of concern to the LGBT community, and we’re looking forward to spotlighting the San Diego Gay & Lesbian News’s excellent work,” Michelson said.
Johnathan Hale, publisher of Hale Media Inc., the parent company of SDGLN, said that the partnership is a win-win situation for readers of both websites.
"In the short time that both SDGLN and HuffPost Gay Voices have been online, they each have established a reputation as being trusted news sources that produce high-quality content for readers," Hale said. "Through this partnership, we look forward to working with HuffPost Gay Voices to enhance the reader experience on both of our sites."
Readers of both websites will be able to find selected stories cross-posted from both SDGLN and GayVoices on the sites.
