Model David Byers faces prison sentence after string of robberies

David Byers was arrested in North Park last May and will face sentencing in January for armed robbery.

David Byers of Solana Beach who was arrested in San Diego this past May has pleaded guilty to a Connecticut.judge for a series of robberies he committed on the east coast. 

Byers, 34, was previously most famous for gracing the covers of romance novels and modeling for an editorial in Michael Stokes’ “Exhibition,” a hardcover book detailing the male form.

Delayed restoration of bridge is a headache to locals caught in traffic

The historic Georgia St. Bridge is way behind schedule, locals feel the delay.

Locals aren’t happy with how long it’s taking to retrofit the Georgia Street Bridge on the cusp of Hillcrest and North Park.

The project is long over schedule, it was supposed to be completed by July 2017, but now it won’t be ready until next spring.

Most people are unhappy because of traffic delays and drivers taking side streets to avoid it.

Hillcrest assault victim recovering at Scripps-Mercy Hospital

Richard Jackle is recovering from injuries sustained from an assault in Hillcrest last month.

Although details of what exactly happened on October 14 in Hillcrest are not yet clear, one man is recovering in the hospital after he claims he was attacked on Robinson Avenue near Jamba Juice that afternoon.
