The victim was rushed to a local hospital on Saturday.
An elderly woman was accosted outside the CVS Pharmacy on Washington Street reports Times of San Diego.
The incident occurred on Saturday, January 8 at approximately 11:47 pm police say.
The assailant first choked the 66-year-old woman and then cut her neck with a knife before fleeing down Washington Street.
The unidentified woman was rushed to a local hospital, where her injuries appear to have been non-life threatening.
Police describe the perpetrator as being a light-skinned Hispanic male with curly hair and wearing dark clothing.
Police are currently investigating the case.
