The city was witness to a large bright fireball falling from the sky on Monday.
If you saw a bright light in the sky on Monday night, you weren’t alone.
The flash happened at about 8:45 pm and could be seen for miles.
The FAA says that many pilots also reported seeing the streaking fireball, although it is still unclear what exactly the mass was.
Jeff Speedy, a Nextdoor social app user, says it could be seen as far away as Arizona.
“It looked like it was out over the ocean. Apparently it was a meteor. People from LA to Phoenix saw it. Pretty cool to see...”
The National Weather Station says it was most likely a meteor.
One East Lake resident caught the spectacle on camera. You can see that video by clicking HERE.
