Many wondered what will happen to transgender vets once Trump's ban goes into effect.
The Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin says his department will continue to serve transgender veterans if they are affected by Trump's ban.
TMZ caught up with Shulkin on Capitol Hill and asked if trans vets can still expect V.A. services and aftercare once they leave the military.
“They can still count on that,” said Shulkin. “For life. Our policy is when somebody leaves the military and they've served their country we’re going to be there for them and we’re going to provide care for them until the end of their life.”
Shulkin is originally from Highland Park, Illinois.
He was nominated by President Trump and unanimously confirmed by the Senate in February 2017.
