A club in Puerto Rico was the site of an “incendiary device” attack over the weekend.

According to the Puerto Rican newspaper El Vocero, “several individuals who were dressed in black” threw the objects at Circo Bar located in San Juan at about 7:30 pm on Saturday.

Reports say the devices did not cause significant damage to the club, and no injuries were reported, but police have yet to make any arrests or come up with an official motive

But some in the community are calling it a hate crime and want authorities to investigate it as such.

Puerto Rican Human Rights activist, Pedro Julio Serrano wants the crime to be investigated as a hate crime.

Here is his translated tweet, “You have to investigate if there is an angle of hatred. They send incendiary bombs to gay club in Santurce.”

The case will be assigned to the Division of Crimes Against Property and to the Division of Explosives and Public Security.
