Police are looking for a man who stood in front of the Ocean Beach Elementary school and exposed himself on Sunday.

Danielle Wolcott was at the scene when it happened and captured the incident on video.

“It’s pretty scary when you see something like that,” she told ABC 10 News. "Seeing someone so young just kind of so unstable was a little concerning.”

Concerned Ocean Beach residents and the school are partnering up to raise funds for private security to patrol the area.

“You know, I think I’m the third generation in my family to grow up here in Ocean Beach," longtime resident Nicole Ueno said. "And it makes me really sad and just afraid to raise my kids here too."

The police were informed of the incident and say if caught the man could face indecent exposure charges and may have to register as a sex offender.

A spokesperson for councilmember Lori Zapf's office sent this statement:

"Councilmember Zapf is appalled by the behavior of the individual standing in front of the Ocean Beach Library exposing himself.  This type of offense is even more egregious since he was standing across the street from an elementary school that was not in session.

I have alerted the San Diego Police Department and ask for those with additional information to please call the San Diego Police Department Western Division at 619-531-2000.

There are no excuses for this behavior and it is my hopes the SDPD swiftly identifies and apprehends this perpetrator."
