Hillcrest sign victim of hit-and-run

The pillars that hold up the historic Hillcrest sign cause damage to hit-and-run U-Haul truck.

The Hillcrest sign was the victim of a hit and run accident Monday night reports the San Diego Police Department.

Witness to the incident, Derrick Roach watched as a U-Haul truck driven by two men slammed into the historic sign's supporting pole at 5th and University in front of Union Bank. 

"It made a huge noise when it hit,” said Roach. 

Locals complain of drones "peeping" into their windows at night

Unmanned Aircraft Systems are creating an unwelcome buzz around Hillcrest.

You hear a whirring outside your window at night or see small lights suspended in mid-air, these are not UFOs, but UAS's, and it has some in Hillcrest and surrounding areas creeped-out. 

Drones, also known as small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), are perfectly legal, but have Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines for use especially if they fly near an airport.

Homeless people becoming more aggressive in Hillcrest

Some homeless in Hillcrest are attacking residents and business owners in the community and it’s all due to the relocation efforts and encampment sweepings going on downtown according to ABC 10.

The aggressive behaviors are also being blamed as retaliation from the Hepatitis A outbreak.

Heavy users of high speed internet will pay extra if they go over their allotted data usage.

In this high-tech streaming age, families are making their homes geared more toward streaming via high-speed internet. And with that now comes an added cost if you have Cox Cable.

The company is going to start charging their biggest data users more money if they go over the one-Terabyte of data they are allotted each month to a tune of $10 for every 50 gigabytes.

Teen killed one, injured another for homophobic bullying according to family

Abel Cedeno, 18, charged with killing one and injuring another after incessantly bullied him.

An allegedly bullied teen is being charged with stabbing and killing Matthew McCree, 15 (pictured left), and seriously injuring Ariane Laboy, 16, with a switchblade in New York this week.

Abel Cedeno, 18, stabbed the two teenagers on Wednesday at the Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation in the Bronx.
