SAN DIEGO -- As "The Real World: San Diego" filmed the series this summer, the community was abuzz about cast member sightings around town.
The cast members, who lived in a house in the Bird Rock neighborhood, included a bisexual man and a lesbian who were seen throughout the summer with camera crews at Hillcrest hot spots such as Eden, Rich's and Urban Mo's.
Since episodes began airing in late September, viewers have watched cast members talk about visiting the San Diego LGBT Pride festivities, which were held in July while the series was filming.
Staff of San Diego LGBT Pride have confirmed that members of "The Real World: San Diego" cast volunteered at the Pride Festival -- and MTV caught it on film.
The sixth episode of the series will air tonight at 10 pm PST on MTV, and San Diego Pride is hosting a viewing party at Fiesta Cantina in Hillcrest.
The bar will air the show on its TV screens and will have its regular food and drink menu available.
Dwayne Crenshaw, executive director of San Diego LGBT Pride, said he hopes community members will be able to watch tonight's episode, which will show parts of this year's history-making festivities.
"This year was historic, not only for San Diego LGBT Pride, but for the nation; as we saw the first ever openly active duty military contingent in an American pride parade," Crenshaw said. "Having the 'Real World' cast in San Diego and able to volunteer created a wonderful opportunity to document that moment in a unique way that will be shared with audiences all over the world."
San Diego Pride's Facebook invite for tonight's event also says that the LGBT cast members Frank Sweeney and Samantha "Sam" McGinn may return to San Diego for the viewing party.
"Rumor on the street is that Sam and Frank from the cast are coming back to San Diego to hang out with us too on this special night," the invite says.
A post on San Diego Pride's Facebook wall on Monday gives further clues:
"A certain bandana wearing cast member from MTV's the Real World: San Diego just confirmed they will be here on Wednesday to watch the show with San Diego Pride. Even with our pronoun-game I bet you can guess who will in town!"
Fiesta Cantina is located at 142 University Ave. For more information, contact San Diego Pride at (619) 297-7683.
