SAN DIEGO -- Local students looking for extra money to cover their higher education expenses have until Friday, March 16, to submit applications for the 14th annual PFLAG San Diego LGBTQ Student Scholarship.
Olivia Dorman, chair of PFLAG's scholarship committee, said that her organization granted seven awards last year, ranging from $1,000 tp $2,000, and encouraged all eligible students to apply this year.
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, or be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student. Those who are selected to receive the scholarship must also be available to attend PFLAG San Diego's general meeting on April 23 to receive the award.
