Stonewall Citizens Patrol to hold board elections

SAN DIEGO -- The Stonewall Citizens Patrol will hold a special meeting at 8 pm Tuesday, June 26, to elect a new board of directors.

The volunteer neighborhood watch patrol group is comprised of over 30 trained volunteers who patrol the Hillcrest, North Park and University Heights areas of San Diego, primarily on weekend evenings. The group also focuses on crime awareness and prevention with activities such as distributing safety whistles, and creating and posting crime prevention posters and safety tip cards.

Because of many current board members approaching the end of their two-year term limit, the organization has put a call out to its membership for new board members, who will be elected "At Large" without title. Once in office, the newly elected board will determine titled positions such as president, secretary and treasurer.

Interested directors need to be at least 18 years of age.

The meeting will be held at The San Diego LGBT Community Center, 3909 Centre St. in Hillcrest.
