TONIGHT: San Diego Gay Men's Chorus to host Info Night for new members

SAN DIEGO -- As the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC) gears up for its 2012 holiday concert semester, the singing organization will host "Info Night," tonight, Monday, Sept. 10, for prospective singers and non-singing volunteers who wish to get involved with the group.

The event begins at 7 pm.

The mission of SDGMC is to create a positive musical experience through exciting performances which engage audiences, build community support and provide a dynamic force for social change. With over 130 singing members, the group holds three main stage concerts each year, as well as a number of smaller performances, social activities and other events to engage the organization in the community.

Those who wish to sing in the chorus should be prepared to take part in a short audition.

At the Info Night, participants will have the opportunity to meet other chorus members, directors and staff, and get to hear the chorus sing. Those who join the chorus now will begin rehearsals for the group's 2012 holiday concert, "Ice & Spice," to be performed Dec. 15-16 at Balboa Theatre.

The Info Night will be held at University Christian Church's Fellowship Hall, 3900 Cleveland Ave. in Hillcrest.
