SAN DIEGO -- As people await the results of many local, state, and national election races, the Young Professionals Council of the San Diego LGBT Community Center will gather tonight starting at 7 pm at East Village Tavern+Bowl for an Election Night Party.
Community members are invited to join other young LGBT professionals and allies at the event, which will take place in the mezzanine area of the popular downtown bar and bowling alley. Attendees will be able to order from the full food and drink menu.
The Young Professionals Council is a diverse group of young LGBT professionals and allies, dedicated to the preservation and future growth of The San Diego LGBT Community Center. The group promotes a culture of service, leadership, and camaraderie among LGBT people under 40 while continuing to cultivate a community of compassion and strength.
Besides its regular monthly meetings, the organization participates and hosts a number of social, networking, and community service events, as well as the YPC Academy, launched this year, which trains and develops young community leaders.
Many YPC members were actively involved in the San Diego LGBT Community Center's "Equality Votes" campaign, an effort designed to get LGBT and LGBT-friendly voters out to the polls.
The Election Night Party will begin at 7 pm.
East Village Tavern+Bowl is located at 930 Market St.
