SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Pride, the organizers of San Diego's annual LGBT pride festivities, will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
The community is invited to attend the meeting to hear San Diego Pride's board, staff and volunteers as they share the organization's 2012 report. There will also be announcement about Pride's 2012 grant giving.
San Diego Pride organized the 38th annual LGBT pride parade and festival this summer, which included a number of new features such as the first ever Pride of Hillcrest Block Party. The organization was also instrumental in creating Harvey Milk Street, the first in the nation to be named after the late civil rights icon.
Besides organizing the annual Pride celebration, San Diego Pride participates in a number of civic engagement activities year round, including voter registration, community service projects and other activities to work toward equality for the LGBT community.
Organizers have already begun planning the 2013 festivities, which are scheduled for July 12-14.
The Dec. 4 meeting will begin at 6 pm at The San Diego LGBT Community Center, 3909 Centre St. in Hillcrest. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
