OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- The North County LGBTQ Resource Center is seeking a volunteer to serve as director of the annual Pride @ the Beach celebration, held in October.
John Jones, who served as the director of this year's successful celebration, is unable to continue in the role.
Read the letter below from North County LGBTQ Resource Center executive director Max Disposti for additional information about the role.
Dear Community members,
We are so thankful for the dedication that in 2013 our Director John Jones has given to our Pride @ The Beach Event. Thank you John Jones for all you did for the success of Pride @ The Beach. The Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers, wish you all the best for your future endeavors.
It is always very difficult to find an individual available to volunteer for such incredible event, especially now that the Resource Center's successful growth is requiring more human resources and Pride continues to grow.
This is why we decided to ask for your support.
We are now looking for a Volunteer Pride Director who can take the growth of our North County Pride into the future. This position is currently a volunteer position -that means no compensation is expected. However, it is the goal of our Board of Directors that the Pride Director may one day be a paid employee. We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, dedicated, fun loving individual who can take Pride to the next level; someone who is familiar with the North County community, able to attract more vendors, sponsors and all the means necessary to make of Pride @ the beach a self-supporting enterprise.
If you believe, as we do, in taking up the challenges and have a vision of a better North County, then you are welcome to join our team. It is a life changing and rewarding experience and a career opportunity in community building and leadership.
For job description and inquires reply to this e-mail.
We hope to hear from you soon,
NC-LGBTQ Resource Center
