More than 35 survivors of the Pulse Nightclub massacre are suing the City of Orlando and its police department in federal court for what they claim was negligence in offering appropriate assistance during the mass shooting two years ago. That incident took the lives of 49 people and injured 53. But the heroic DJ who was paying that night finds the lawsuit "upsetting."

The Los Angeles Pride festival was the scene of police helicopters, fire code enforcement agents and police in riot gear on Saturday night due to an oversold music event.

Lucero Felicita Camarena didn’t speak until she was six-years-old; afraid of the judgments a cruel world can have on those who feel different. Camarena was assigned a gender at birth that did not fit who she was inside and for more than 20 years she struggled to overcome an internal strife that made it difficult for her to accept herself. Another rainbow crosswalk has been permanently placed at an intersection of an American city, this time it's Maplewood New Jersey. This symbol of inclusivity is located at the four-way stop on Valley Street and Oakview; it was officially unveiled on Thursday.

An unidentified man, 41, was hit on his rideshare Bird scooter in Hillcrest Monday night. Police say he suffered major injuries after he was struck on Washington Avenue by a Toyota Prius that was exiting northbound 163. Just after that accident, San Diego Police said they are cracking down on safety violations from rental scooters.  

A Los Angeles man has accused his neighbors of harassment because he is gay. Retired journalist and Air Force veteran Ryan Gierach says since he moved into his apartment in San Pedro two years ago he’s been relentlessly targeted by people who use homophobic slurs.

Today, the San Diego City Council issued a proclamation declaring Friday, June 22, 2018, to be Dr. Delores Jacobs Day in the City of San Diego. Jacobs, who has been at the helm of The San Diego LGBT Community Center as its Chief Executive Officer for the past 17 years, will end her service to The Center on June 30.

In yet another story about a ridesharing driver who kicked out a gay couple, this one actually lost his Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) operating license.

Wanda Villanueva was on a flight back from California when she met Glendy and her 7-year-old son, the two were on their way to Rhode Island to stay with some family. That sounds like a nice story until you realize as Wanda did that there was something more heartbreaking to it.

YouTube is celebrating Pride month by encouraging people to use digital media as a tool to express themselves. Titled “#PridetoCreate: Pride 2018,” a video released on Thursday showcases many in the LGBT spectrum who use the platform to make statements about who they are, which hopefully inspires others to do the same. But not everyone was happy with the video. 

Former San Diegan Alicia Champion was only 17 when Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold swept through the classrooms of Columbine High School with gunfire killing 12 students and injuring 21. In her new song "The Freshmen '18" she takes the NRA to task

"Call Me Maybe" was a 2012 viral tune that infected the entire country with a feel-good earworm, it put singer Carly Rae Jepsen on the map. It also made a star out of the sinewy male lead Holden Nowell in the accompanying video, but he says he wasn’t comfortable with that. And still isn't.

Dave Slick, a 26-year-old gay adult movie star was found unresponsive in a Chicago eatery bathroom at about 11:35 am Friday morning.

Social media trolls are at it again this week. First, they stampeded against Kelly Marie Tran of The Last Jedi with hateful comments, now it's star Millie Bobby Brown who plays the supernatural supergirl Eleven on the Netflix series Stranger Things.

Plunge into Pride weekend 2018 with the many exciting events LE Parties has in store for you in San Diego this July. LE Parties out-do themselves every year and set the mood for Pride. This year, they are pulling out all the stops with a new venue and some great special guests. 

Nothing gets past social media so when the CEO of one of the biggest engines in the field decides to tweet his receipt from a notoriously anti-gay restaurant during Pride month, the LGBT community and their allies take notice.

The Pride flag hasn’t really changed in the years since Gilbert Baker designed it and first flew it four decades ago. In 2017 there was some controversy surrounding the addition of brown and black stripes to represent queer people of color.But there may be a new one on the horizon

To mark the two years that have passed since the shooting massacre that occurred at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida on June 12, 2016, Latino Services at The San Diego LGBT Community Center is hosted an altar honoring the victims. The public was welcome to visit the altar through 6 pm Tuesday.

The San Diego Women's Chorus (SDWC) is getting ready to kick off San Diego Pride week with their annual concert event. This year's title is "A Million Dreams."

HEALTH WELLNESS AND SPORTS

Despite warnings from LGBT watchdogs worldwide, the President of the Russian LGBT Sport Federation, Alexander Agapov, is showing LGBT pride by waving his rainbow flag at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium during the World Cup against Saudi Arabia.
