Mayor, local officials mark progress on library construction in Uptown

Continuing his commitment to improving all neighborhoods, Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer was joined today by State Assemblymember Todd Gloria and City Councilmember Chris Ward to mark progress on construction for a state-of-the-art library in Uptown.  

SD Pride Parade is the largest single-day civic event

The mayor said San Diego is coming off the best tourism year ever and these two events continually offer the best the city has to offer.

San Diego Pride Parade draws more people than Comic-Con each year and generates millions of dollars to the local economy. The parade sees an estimated 200,000 people; Comic-Con, 135,000. 

Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer and other community leaders including Councilmember Chris Ward discussed how these two major annual events are important for the city’s economy.

Thousands walk in San Diego for Equality March

Thousands marched through the streets of San Diego for the Equality March on Sunday.

Today the Equality March on Washington was also celebrated by over 116 cities around the country.

Right here in San Diego, thousands took to the streets from curb to curb marching through downtown heading toward the city’s administration building.

Mayor Faulconer endorses Anthony Bernal for District Three

San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer (R) made an announcement today, endorsing Anthony Bernal (D) as his preferred candidate in the race for San Diego City Councilmember of the Third District.

Faulconer, in a statement recognized that each candidate has passion and heart, but only one has enough experience to hit the ground running on day one.
