Mormon Church offshoot votes to begin performing marriages for lesbian and gay couples

The Community of Christ — an offshoot of the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints — voted this week by more than the requisite majority to begin performing marriage ceremonies for lesbian and gay couples in states where it is legal. In states that have yet to establish marriage equality, the Community of Christ will offer commitment ceremonies to recognize the validity and importance of LGBT love.

"Ex-gay movement" poster boy John Paulk renounces conversion therapy, apologizes

PORTLAND, Ore. – John Paulk, the poster boy for the so-called “ex-gay movement” for a decade, has issued “A Formal Public Apology by John Paulk” and renounced conversion therapy.

Paulk founded the Love Won Out ministry through the anti-gay group Focus on Family, appeared on countless television shows and conducted numerous interviews touting that he was converted into a heterosexual man through prayer and “ex-gay therapy.”

He married an “ex-lesbian,” Anne, and they became parents of three children.

President Clinton accepts GLAAD Media Award from daughter Chelsea | VIDEO

LOS ANGELES -- Former President Bill Clinton was honored at the star-studded annual GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday night at the JW Marriott in Downtown Los Angeles.

Clinton received the organization's inaugural Advocate for Change Award from his daughter Chelsea, after speaking to the crowd about his support of equality.

Entertainment attorney Steve Warren also received high honors, and gave a moving acceptance speech.
