A man led the San Diego Police department on a small car chase through Hillcrest on Tuesday night, ending in a crash through a business store front on Park Boulevard and Robinson Avenue just before 9 pm.

Hillcrest-wide new parking enforcement hours shift

The new Hillcrest enforcement hours will be from 10 am to 8 pm, Monday through Saturday, Sundays &Holidays excepted.

The Uptown Community Parking District, with support of the Hillcrest Business Association, is shifting parking meters and time-limited parking enforcement hours to best meet the needs of those in Hillcrest.

The current meter enforcement hours in Hillcrest, will shift forward by two hours with mornings now free up to 10 am.

Homophobic harassment on the rise in Hillcrest

Anti-gay threats are on the rise in Hillcrest according to some residents and employees.

Some in the Hillcrest community are concerned about the recent uptick in harassment aimed at LGBT businesses and patrons this month.

Employees and customers say they have had to deal with a multitude of cases involving individuals making homophobic cold calls, verbal abuse and dangerous pranks which seem to be targeted at gays throughout the primarily LGBT section of San Diego.

New Hillcrest eatery will donate all profits to local charities

Libertad – Tacos a la Brasa in Hillcrest will be a unique eatery, one that will give back to the community.

Hillcrest will be the site of another San Diego first, a non-profit restaurant that will give 100-percent of its profits to a different local charity every month.

Libertad – Tacos a la Brasa is a fast serve eatery that is moving into the spot formerly occupied by 100 Wines on University Avenue.

Gay vet helps SD homeless veterans a few beers at a time
