A "Celebration of Life" in honor of Dillingham is set for Saturday, January 20 at St. Paul Episcopal Cathedral, 1 pm.

The late Ben F. Dillingham III, who was a decorated Marine captain and tank commander, had his uniforms, medals, dog tags, etc. presented to the Lambda Archives of San Diego by City Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez last week.

In November of 2017, Dillingham passed away from cancer at age 72.

When we look at LGBT history and the people who blazed the trail for all of us starting from Stonewall to Marriage Equality, we often forget those who made it possible for us to have these freedoms by having to sacrifice their own, not only legally but personally.

Lambda Archives announces Historian in Residence

"Dr. Faderman has inspired my own work as a steward of our community’s stories and I am thrilled to work with her to further the mission of collecting, preserving, and teaching LGBTQ history."

Lambda Archives of San Diego is pleased to announce the establishment of a “Historian-in-Residence” program.

This honorific title is bestowed upon a prominent or influential historian in the field of LGBTQ historic scholarship at the discretion of Lambda Archives.

We are honored to name Dr. Lillian Faderman as our inaugural Historian-in-Residence for the 2017-2019 term.
