Circulate San Diego and SDPD unite, release pedestrian safety awareness videos

According to a recent report from the San Diego County Coroner, a staggering 101 pedestrians died on the streets across San Diego County last year.

Today Circulate San Diego and the San Diego Police Department recognized Pedestrian Safety Awareness Month by releasing two videos to promote Vision Zero, the City of San Diego’s plan to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2025.

The video public service announcements emphasize the importance of being safe and aware when walking and driving on San Diego streets.

Hit-and-run in Hillcrest leaves man with serious injuries

Hit-and-run in Hillcrest leaves a homeless man seriously injured.

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck a man on University Avenue in Hillcrest late Thursday evening.

Law enforcement say the victim appears to be homeless and was jaywalking near Richmond Street in front of the Starbucks.

The driver fled the scene after hitting the man police say. 

Man falls down Hillcrest canyon

Man gets rescued from Hillcrest canyon after a 200-foot fall

A man fell 200-feet into a Hillcrest canyon on Wednesday, prompting the San Diego Fire and Rescue crew to respond.

Police responded to a report of a burglary just after 3 am in the 3500 block of Albatross Street in Hillcrest reports NBC 7.

Two women sexually assaulted in Pacific Beach

Two separate rape cases occur in Pacific Beach last week.

Pacific Beach was the location for two different rapes which occurred over two days and within two miles of each other ABC 10 reports.

Police are currently investigating the attacks which occurred last week on the 1700 Hornblend Street and the 4800 block of Mission Boulevard.

Body found in Balboa Park early Monday morning

The victim was of unknown age who had massive injuries to the head.

Balboa Park was the scene of a police investigation early Monday morning after someone reported finding a dead body off Park Boulevard between Morley Field Drive and Zoo Place at approximately 2 am.

Park Boulevard was closed to traffic until just before 7 am.
