SAN DIEGO – Mama’s Kitchen invites the community to a “Roaring '20s” inspired fundraiser at its Prohibition Night, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 17, at Eden.
While the Prohibition era was a time when alcohol consumption was prohibited, the drinks and fun will be flowing at this event, which is being hosted by the organization’s board of directors.
The evening event will include a Texas Hold’em Tournament starting at 7 pm, raffle prizes and other gaming opportunities. Organizers say they have secured a number of great raffle prizes, including a large flat-panel television.
Mama’s Kitchen is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers food to men, women and children who are affected by AIDS or cancer. Clients nutritional needs are met by being able to have meals 365 days a year.
Founded in 1990, the organization has grown to serve over 1,200 clients per year. Mama’s Kitchen recently moved into a new, larger facility, which has increased the organization’s capacity to serve the community.
Tickets for Prohibition Night are $40 in advance or $50 at the door and can be purchased online. Those who wish to attend but not participate in the gaming may purchase a ticket for $15.
Eden is located at 1202 University Ave. in Hillcrest.
