SAN DIEGO -- U.S. Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.) and San Diego City Council President Todd Gloria will provide remarks at an event exploring recent U.S. Supreme Court cases and what they mean for marriage equality.
The forum will be Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 6-7 pm at The Center in Hillcrest.
The event, hosted by the San Diego Lawyer Chapter of
ACS and The Center, will feature a panel discussion focusing on the high court’s rulings on same-sex marriage and what future litigation will look like.
The discussion will answer questions such as: What does it mean to live in California in a post Prop 8 and DOMA world? What are the practical changes that you can expect after you get married? Can you sponsor your partner for citizenship if they’re from another country? What will happen to the way you pay taxes?
